"15th Anniversary"

A beautiful, calm and sunny morning greeted 56 golfers at the challenging Golf Club at Bear Dance in Larkspur, Colorado on June 22, 2011.  Dr. Greg Baron of Colorado Springs hosted a complementary continental breakfast including muffins and coffee to help get the day off to a great start!   Here are the 15th Anniversary results:

The Optic Bear Challenge

Twelve foursomes competed for to be Optic Bear champions for 2011.  The Cooper Vision foursome of Dr. Harv Sylvan, Dr. Jim Simonson, Dr. Eric Wehrenberg, and Dr. Chad Nicholson shot a 10 under 62 to take home the Bear.  Second place was claimed by Mr. Tom Martin, Mr. Ralph Thies & Mr. John Thies with an 8 under 64.  Third place went to the team of Mr. Matt Edgar, Mr. Aaron Chase, Mr. Mike Gleim and Mr. Doug Lehnam shooting a 7 under 65.  Congratulations to all teams for some great golf!

The Optic Cup Shootout

Two teams competed for the prestigious Optic Cup.  The foursomes, consisting of low-handicap golfers, went head to head on the challenging Bear Dance layout.  The foursome of Dr. Dean Carlson, Mr. Clark Dwyer, Mr.. Ryan Hettich, and Mr. Grady Castle  shot a 13 under 59 to capture the Cup.  They survived a strong test from from Dr. Britt Buckley, Dr. Matthew Chang, Mr. Tom Bird and Mr. Bob Hollett who shot a 10 under 62.  Thanks to both teams for keeping the tradition of the Optic Cup alive and well. 

Dr. Greg Baron's 19th Hole

Dr. Greg Baron was generous enough to not only host breakfast, but also a hearty buffet lunch of hamburgers, seasoned chicken breasts and Italian sausage w/ peppers to all the players after their challenging rounds.  Awards and prizes were presented and a great time was had by all!
