EDUCATION FOR LIFE

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

Dear Dr. Tom,
. . . I believe this is the final semester I will be receiving financial support from the See the Future Fund, and with this said, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all the encouragement and financial support I have received from this organization. I am very excited to graduate this fall with my MA in rehabilitation counseling.  It is because of donors like you that I am able to get this far and have hope for the future. You have genuinely made a great impact in my life and this is something I will always remember. Thank you for believing in me as a newly blind student as I was starting out at Aims (Community College). Thank you for helping me grow into the person I am today, and nourishing my confidence that I too could reach higher education as a first generation, blind, female immigrant student. There are no words that can express how much your support means to someone like me with zero financial support from my parents. In fact, your kindness and generosity not only has helped me in supporting myself, but in some instances also helping my parents when they are in need. Thank you for the greatest gift anyone can ever give. Your gift of education is something I will take with me for the rest of my life, and I am confident that I too will one day give to others. I am eager to begin my journey as a rehabilitation counselor and contribute to my community by helping people with disabilities reach their employment objectives and fulfil their highest potential.

Respectfully,

Dora Lopez
