2020 Eye Open - Cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic

2019 Eye Open Recap (23rd Annual)

A beautiful morning greeted golfers at the Eisenhower Golf Course at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs on June 17th.  The challenging AFA Blue Course, nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, is one of the few courses left with no houses to be seen;).

EverythingForSight.org teamed up with the SEE THE FUTURE Fund for the fourth consecutive year.  High schools from up-and-down the Front Range of Colorado joined adults  of all ages for a fun day on the links.  

Ms. Quincie Mattick,, a 2019 SEE THE FUTURE recipient, Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind graduate and Idaho State University student, was part of the Eye Open this year and graciously greeted all the golfers on hole #3.  Thank you Quincie!

Results of the 23rd Annual Eye Open:

The Optic Cup / Optic Bear Shootout
All adult teams played for the coveted Optic Cup (1st place trophy) and Optic Bear (2nd place trophy). 

For the first time in Eye Open history, three teams tied for the title shooting 12 under par 60.  In a tiebreak, the team of Mark Holly,  Ryan Wilhelm, Mark Lee and Matthew Lee will have their names engraved on the prestigious Optic Cup.   

The Pasch Optical team of  Bob Joseph, David Babbitt, Larry Jacobs and Mike Stoker claimed the Optic Bear.

​Third place in the tie-breaking process went to the Colorado Hi-Tech Solutions team of Zachary King, Jason Miller, Ryan King and Jenny Phillips.

Students for Students Challenge
The Students for Students Challenge featured 8 teams from Colorado's front range. Each team consisted of 3 high school golfers and 1 coach.  

The Arapahoe High School boys team of Jack Whitehead, Jack Ambrose, Jack Rottschafer & Harry Buckner (Coach)  took home top honors with an 11 under par 61.   Second place honors  went to the Regis Jesuit boys team of Roman Hamilton, Cole McCoy,  David Berg & Craig Rogers (Coach) shooting 8 under par 64.
